Special Round-Up Ready Seed Corn Available!

 January 17, 2023

Special Round-Up Ready Seed Corn Available!

We are offering Round-Up Ready seed corn at a reduced price. This is not affiliated with the Md. State Chapter's "Surplus Seed" offer. This seed has been donated by a farmer in the Easton, MD area at a very low cost to any and all local NWTF chapters in Maryland. The seed will be picked up in the next few weeks and will be available for pick-up in Oakland soon after pick-up.

The "Surplus Seed" offer is also currently available. We have corn, soy bean and sorghum available through that program at $13 per bag. If you're interested in corn, now is the time to order it. If you're interested in soy bean or sorghum, please contact me or Jeremy Bolyard to place orders for those seeds.

The cost per bag of corn will depend upon the number of bags ordered through our Western Maryland Chapter. The cost is anticipated to be between $4 - $6 per bag. Again, this is seed corn that is Round-Up ready!

There is no limit to the number of bags each individual can order, but if the order gets too large, so that all bags cannot fit into the delivery truck, then you may not get all of the bags that you wanted. Every effort will be exhausted to accommodate your order.

There is a very fast turn around for this seed. We must order it and pick it up soon, so you must place your order by noon, Friday, January 27th. Orders placed after that time may not be honored.
Please email Joe Mills at jemcands@verizon.net or Jeremy Bolyard at jeremybolyard@yahoo.com to place your order. Payment will be due when you pick up your seed.

"The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage. The mission of the National Wild Turkey Federation is no less urgent today than when it was founded in 1973. What we do in the coming decades will be instrumental in not only enhancing wild turkey populations but also in the continuation of hunting and quality wildlife habitat for countless species. The NWTF is leading a collaborative effort to solve the problem with the Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative, and our contribution is our dynamic volunteer base. Since 1981, NWTF saw a need to engage youth in outdoor activities and began the JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) program to pass on the tradition of safe, ethical hunting, and to teach conservation principles. The NWTF-funded scholarship program for seniors is administered by the National FFA Organization and requires that candidates be supportive of and actively involved in wildlife conservation, the preservation of the nation’s hunting heritage or other activities that support the NWTF Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative."

All applications are due back to the local Western MD Chapter of the NWTF by no later than January 31, 2022. Applications should be returned to:

NWTF Reveals New Branding

 March 15, 2021

NWTF Reveals New Branding Anchored in Commitment to the Wild Turkey and Conservation

EDGEFIELD, S.C.—At a time when the minds of many yearn for spring and the return of warm breezes, new growth and the gobble of a turkey on the roost, the National Wild Turkey Federation gave a sneak peek at its brand evolution, the heart of which is an unwavering commitment to those who are passionate about the wild turkey, wild turkey hunting, America's wildlife and those who have a profound respect for nature and our important role within.

The brand evolution–a necessary change coming out of a year that saw more people than ever show interest in outdoors and the pursuit of wild game–centers the narrative on the NWTF’s relevancy to current members and turkey hunters and also aims to attract a new, younger audience so that the NWTF may continue to be most effective at its nearly 50-year mission of conserving the wild turkey and preserving our hunting heritage.

“Recent surveys and data reflect more Americans than ever are actively interested in living a healthy outdoor life style, harvesting their own food and understanding their own role in conservation,” NWTF CEO Becky Humphries said. “Thanks to the dedicated volunteers, members and staff, the NWTF has a rich history and a track record of conservation and preservation our hunting heritage that increases our relevancy to all who enjoy wildlife and the outdoor pursuits and we are poised to welcome return members and newcomers alike to the NWTF family flock.”

To bring focus to the Federation’s unique commitment to the full-cycle of wildlife conservation, the NWTF’s brand evolution includes a new logo inspired by the spirit of the Federation and a new tag line, “Healthy Habitats. Healthy Harvests.”, both of which were rigorously tested and appealed to individuals 45 and younger, a prime demographic necessary to the future of mission success.

The NWTF’s brand evolution was created via a strategic partnership with The Truth—a multi-faceted specialty branding and marketing agency well versed in the outdoor industry.

About the National Wild Turkey Federation
When the National Wild Turkey Federation was founded in 1973, there were about 1.3 million wild turkeys in North America. After decades of work, that number hit a historic high of almost 7 million turkeys. To succeed, the NWTF stood behind science-based conservation and hunters' rights. Today, the NWTF is focused on the future of hunting and conservation through its Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative – a charge that mobilizes science, fundraising and devoted volunteers to conserve or enhance more than 4 million acres of essential wildlife habitat, recruit at least 1.5 million hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting. For more information, visit NWTF.org.

About The Truth
