NWTF Reveals New Branding
March 15, 2021
When the National Wild Turkey Federation was founded in 1973, there were about 1.3 million wild turkeys in North America. After decades of work, that number hit a historic high of almost 7 million turkeys. To succeed, the NWTF stood behind science-based conservation and hunters' rights. Today, the NWTF is focused on the future of hunting and conservation through its Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative – a charge that mobilizes science, fundraising and devoted volunteers to conserve or enhance more than 4 million acres of essential wildlife habitat, recruit at least 1.5 million hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting. For more information, visit NWTF.org.

2020 WMD NWTF Banquet Rescheduled

2020 WMD NWTF Banquet Rescheduled
We are currently planning to hold the National Wild Turkey Federation Western Maryland Banquet on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Avilton Community Center. Doors will open at 3:00pm and dinner will be served at 4:30pm. This banquet was originally scheduled for March 14, 2020, but because of the coronavirus and the limitations it placed on businesses and venues, we unfortunately had to cancel it. We are planning to expand the area used at the community center for the Banquet in order to spread out the seating and the displays to help meet the Covid-19 safety requirements. Other precautions will also have to be taken, such as a sign-in sheet and waiver at the door. We will provide hand sanitizer where possible and we politely ask that participants wear a mask or facial covering whenever possible at the event. All activities that we normally have at the event, including the live and silent auctions, games, raffles and dinner are all planned to take place as normal.
A postcard reminder has already been sent to all who were previously registered for the event. We had a tremendous response to the event registration in spring, so registration is officially closed to new participants.
If you will no longer be able to participate in this year's event, you will need to contact Joe Mills (Western Maryland Chapter president) at 304-590-4300.
Please continue to be patient with us as we navigate new challenges in the face of this year's pandemic. We want to thank you for your continued support for the Western Maryland chapter of the NWTF. We look forward to seeing everyone at the event.
